I've come a long way but I still have so far to go,
I've learned a lot but there's still so much more to know,
I never relax thinking there's nothing left to learn,
That's always a dangerous place where your energy's burned,

Take care looking back 'cos horizons are number one,
Time's oh so precious so see nothing's left undone,
The old and the wise never stop with this vision ahead,
Curiosity fades but we know that it must be fed.

What it boils down to is exploring what it's all about,
Let the academics lecture and the bigots shout
While we get on with living.

Plans that we made can end up discarded and burned,
That's our reason to live and not be deterred,

In the blink of an eye we've lost all those years.
